It was a rainy, wet, yet beautiful Northern California wedding day at the Moutain Terrance in Woodside, California. Yet, no amount of rain could stop or dampen Phil and Christina’s love for each other or the the beautiful celebration their family and friends came to participate in. This wedding blog post is dedicated to Phil and Christina and in a special way to Phil’s mom who is a very, very beautiful and courageous woman – beyond words. What a blessing to be Phil and Christina’s wedding photographer.
The wedding day started in Palo Alto at the Westin Inn where I improvised by hanging the dress off the hallway chandelier holding onto faith that it would not break it!
Last minute details! Yes, remembering how to tie a tie!
I don’t remember what I said to the ladies…but it must have been funny! : )
Every wedding is filled with wonderful and unique people, personalities and rare talents!
Oh the shoes and the socks. Even guys can have a little fun with it!
Gorgeous wedding flowers I must say! Great choice Christina!
Here’s to such a special wonderful, beautiful and courageous lady, Phil’s mom. What a joy it was to watch her watching her son get married. Wheel chair, disease nor rain would deny her of seeing her son marry the woman of his dreams. My heart was and still is very touched by her. She was smiling the whole day. Earlier in the morning Christina had presented her with a necklace engraved with the words: “Thank you for raising the main of my dreams.” So sweet of Christina to have been thinking of her mother in law on her own wedding day! Having spent the day with Phil and getting to know the type of man he is, Phil’s mother is an amazing woman and raised a very respectful and decent son. To see her husband caring for her with such kindness and dedication was very touching as well. How beautiful it was when Phil wheeled his mother to here spot up front for the wedding!
The ceremony had been set up to take place inside since it had been raining all morning at the Moutain Terrace in Woodside. However, as the ceremony time neared, the rain clouds parted and I conference with the coordinator and Phil. I suggested that it would greatly benefit the wedding photographs to move the ceremony outside onto the deck. Of course there was always the risk of the rain starting again. Phil “made the call” and the staff hurried the chairs outside! The wedding started and it was a beautiful ceremony! I’m confident Phil made the right call. This gave them much more space, a beautiful view and much better lighting for their wedding ceremony photographs! A few rain drops here and there never hurt anyone!
The eyes say it all! Wonderful!
When time permits I like to raise one of my cameras up on a 12 foot pole to get a bird’s eye view type panoramic shot of the ceremony.
Just as the lovely couple was pronounced husband and wife, it started sprinkling again! It just added to the excitement of the day as they hurried back inside!
Joy, joy, joy!
Careful ladies, don’t drop or break the groom!
Most people don’t know how hard it is to get 11 people jumping at the same time…especially if they have had a drink or two….or three!
There’s no balcony to photograph from here, but I brought out my 12 foot pole again to get a few more shots. This one is fairly close to being directly above the center of the dance floor.
I love capturing a real, candid and energetic wedding moment!
The wedding photography business is competitive enough and yet even now a young generation is already training to take over!
Rock on my friends!
Thank you Phil and Christina. It was a wonderful wedding day and I’m so glad I got to experience and document it! Your love truly is undeniable! Blessings!
Kindly,
Trent
