Joel and Rhonda’s Wedding took place at the popular and beautiful Shore Cliff Lodge in Pismo Beach. The Shore Cliff Lodge is one of the most popular wedding venues in the Pismo Beach – Shell Beach area. The ceremony site sits on a cliff overlooking the vast and beautiful beach below. Another great thing about the Shore Cliff Lodge is the fact that the Pelican Point Restaurant – reception site, which is part of the Shore Cliff Lodge, is just a few hundred yards away. Additionally, the Pelican Point has a great balcony that goes around one side of it – so when the Sun begins to set – you’re just a few steps away from being photographed with an amazing sunset. As a wedding photographer you couldn’t ask for much more. It’s venues like the Shore Cliff Lodge that make being a San Luis Obispo wedding photographer really fantastic.
Getting back to Joel and Rhonda – they were a great couple to have the privilege of photographing their wedding. As you can see they are quite attractive and were a lot of fun. We did their engagement photographs in the Malibu quite some time before their wedding. See the full post for their engagement session here – or just scroll down a bit. Here’s one of my many favs.
I like to get to every wedding much earlier than we have scheduled. This allows me time to get detail shots of your wedding. I really enjoy it and most clients do as well. This is one more reason that all of my packages come with unlimited hours. To me, once I’ve been contracted by you – it’s not about money or the number of hours I have to put in. It is about doing my very best for you – capturing and telling the whole of your wedding day love story.
You never know what you might find or see on each and every wedding. This is one thing that makes being a San Luis Obispo photographer so exciting! Here a amid some vibrant flowers a couple of bees take care of their business giving no regard for Joel and Rhonda’s most special day!
The amazing and beautiful flowers and centerpieces were done by Jenny McNiece Flowers. Jenny is one of the absolute best in the business with her spectacular floral arrangements combined with her sweet and caring personality. Every bride I’ve photographed – that has had Jenny as her florist says the same thing: “Jenny is amazing…Jenny is so nice..Jenny is the best..etc, etc. etc!!” Every time I see one of Jenny’s creations I am amazed since every time she is able to do something to make it not only stunning, but unique from any of the previous creations I have witnessed. If you are looking for a florist, be sure to consider Jenny McNiece Flowers. She truly is one of, if not thee very best.
Children are always one of my favorites to photograph. It seems every wedding brings with it – the most beautiful children in the world!
Here – I caught a moment with the bride looking into the mirror – just before here wedding. Surely the happy look on her face tells the story of her heart – and what a joyous day it is for her to be wed to her groom!
This girl’s big brown eyes, endearing smile and inquisitive look stole my heart.
One thing I ALWAYS recommend is to have colorful flowers. while white flowers are beautiful – if the bride is wearing a white wedding dress – they don’t give quite the “pop” that colorful ones do. Joel and Rhonda’s selection are one of my favorites.
If you can’t tell…it was quite a “breezy” wedding day! In fact so much so that Rhonda’s dad had to hold her secure to give him the confidence of mind that his beautiful daughter wouldn’t fly away as they make their way down the wedding aisle!
One of the great benefits of having a second photographer for your wedding (especially the ceremony) is that two separate angles can be covered. So while I am able to get the bride descending down the aisle, my second shooter is able to get here from the back and or from the side. I can also use a remote camera set on a tripod and fired wirelessly if conditions permit.
Just as the bride and her father stop at the front of the ceremony site, I catch a quick glance from the bride. The expression of her and her father are both priceless.
A specialized “fish eye” lens enables me to capture the whole of the audience, the bride and groom, bridal party and good deal of the landscape.
Another thing I always try to do as a wedding photographer is capture special moments and looks of those close to the bride and groom. A top that list is the expressions of immediate family during the wedding. Here both sets of parents are captured with lots of emotion.
Again, here a second photographer really pays off – allowing two different angles to be captured as the bride and groom make their way back down the aisle.
Incase you are wondering – the answer is yes! The groomsman really does have a real/permanent tattoo of a mustache on his finger…which enables him to temporarily have a mustache on his face when desired!
It’s expressions like these (below) that make my job more than worthwhile!!!
Here’s the reaction of the crowd when they received word that I am willing to shoot their weddings too!
Thanks Joel and Rhonda for giving me the privlege to be your wedding photographer. I hope your marriage is filled with peace, giving and love!
Trent – Trent – Trent…
My gosh – your images are to DIE for – and I think I am picky. I am still learning to fotograph and get my biz. going but I know what I like, and I LOVE your images. Nothing is cheezy, everything is tack sharp where it should be. Absolutely gorgeous.
I am fortunate and have a killer monitor – and your colors and floral images made her work! GORGEOUS and saturated, lovely contrast.
Dude, you rock.
Thank you for being so inspirational.
Best,
Kimberly
The photos are very natural, authentic and inspiring!
