How wonderful it was to be invited to capture Behnam and Parisa’s most special day at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center! Many months ago Behnam and Parisa had contacted me to photograph their engagement session in beautiful Santa Barbara. As the sun began to set and our session drew to a close I asked the lovely couple when and where their wedding was. I was wondering why they had asked me to photograph their engagement session but they had not said anything of their wedding photography. I soon learned that the wedding would be in Denver, Colorado. The sweet couple asked, “Trent, do you travel for weddings”? The rest was history! A few months later, in January, I was on a plane headed for Denver. As the plane lifted off and soared above the clouds, I looked down on the earth and reflected how blessed I am to have been granted the opportunity and ability to get to do what I do: Traveling to many beautiful places to photograph such beautiful couples and events! Added to that I looked forward to seeing Behnam and Parisa again. They are two very gracious and kind people.
The Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center is a really classy, upscale, spacious and clean wedding venue. I was really impressed with all of it’s features. As I scoped out the venue prior to the wedding, my mind was filled with all kinds of thoughts about all the different areas that would be great for photos and ideas of how we could utilize each to its’ fullest. The reality of weddings is that as a wedding photographer you never get as much time as you would like to utilize all the opportunities that are available in theory. So the key is to maximize whatever opportunities you do actually end up getting!
Before we got to the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center (DTC) I started at the Parisa’s parent’s home.
Behnam and Parisa walked down the aisle together to start their ceremony off.
Thank goodness they had a fairly long ceremony and the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center had efficient elevators. During one ceremony reading, I hightailed it up to the 6th floor for a birds eye view and then dashed back down for the remainder of the ceremony.
Beautiful white snow lay on the ground. I asked the lovely couple if they would lay down in the snow and make “snow angels” for me, but they refused! We had a great time laughing and enjoying the clean, crisp high altitude air of Denver as we got some couple shots at a nearby park/fountain area.
The Denver Hyatt Regency Tech Center has an enormous ballroom for large receptions. It was really nice that everyone had plenty of space.
I love trying to capture as many real, candid, spontaneous, fun moments as I can. It’s really fun to capture an image where at least some of the subjects are totally un aware their expressions are being photographed!
Towards the end of the evening we snuck back out of the reception for a few more photographs of the newly wed couple!
Thanks so much Behnam and Parisa for inviting me along to see, experience and capture such a special and love filled day that you two experienced with your most important family and friends. It was really an honor to be able to enjoy the day with you. I hope and pray that your marriage will be filled with the deepest of truth and love.
